Christine-Ann Richards was born in Buckinghamshire in 1949. She studied at Harrow School of Art from 1971 to 1973 and then spent some time with Bryan and Julia Newman at Aller Pottery in Devon. She worked with David Leach at Lowerdown Pottery in 1974 and then set up her own workshop in London the following year.
In 1976 she joined the Craft Potters Association and on a trip to China organized by them in 1978 she became interested in Chinese Art and porcelain.
Her early porcelain pots were matt glazed. Later ones often had a crackle glaze, sometimes emphasized with ink, and since the late 1980s she been producing brush decorated pieces. Her work is exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
