Ursula Mommens, born 1908, studied at the Royal College of Art, under William Staite Murray. Her first pottery was in Kent, but after her marriage to Julian Trevelyan in 1935 she moved to London.

After the unfortunate destruction of her kiln by the Luftwaffe Ursula worked with Cardew at both Winchcombe and Wenford Bridge Since 1960 she has been at South Heighton, Newhaven, Sussex.

Her work is sometimes in porcelain but mainly stoneware, using wood ash glazes, firing in a large wood-fired kiln or a small gas kiln.
