Sibley Pottery

Sibley Pottery operated from 1922 to 1962 in Wareham, Dorset. The incised mark was used until shortly before the outbreak of World War II and was later replaced by an impressed backstamp.

There is a story than T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) ordered a tea set from Sibley with raised edges to the plates to stop the sand blowing into his sandwiches, but this might be apocryphal.
